Key Signatures
Sharps and flats at the beginning
Seite 1 / 714%
What Is a Key?
The key determines which notes are primarily used in a piece.
Instead of writing each sharp or flat before individual notes, the key signature is placed at the beginning of each line.
Example: G major has one sharp (F♯). Every F in the piece is automatically played as F♯.
